About The Pastor
Ps. Peter is the Senior minister at “The Rock Christian Church”. Ps Peter received his credentials through the 'Assemblies of God' movement and after moving to the Christian Life Churches International (CLCI) movement he was ordained as a 'Reverend' and currently sits as a board member of the CLCI National council.
Ps. Peter and his wife Sue became a Christians at the age of 17. They have two girls, Amanda and Kimberly.
Before calling Ps Peter into fulltime ministry the Lord allowed him to achieve all his goals within a successful career in corporate sales and management and in his own businesses ventures.
Ps Peter had been involved in Christian Leadership for many years since becoming a Leader within the Youth at Christian Outreach Centre (Mansfield, Qld.) in the 80’s. Since then he and Sue both worked within the Baptist denomination as Youth Leaders where they became foundation Members and served God within the Eldership and Board of Browns Plains Baptist Church for a period of 10 years.
God was instrumental in moving them into an 'Assemblies of God' church at “Parklands Christian Centre” (Park Ridge, Qld.) In 1997 Ps. Peter served within the Board and Eldership until he was called into fulltime ministry as Assistant Pastor. In 2001 Ps Peter was called to Cleveland in the Redlands where he pioneered a new work called Breakthrough Christian Church.
Ps Peter completed a 12 month Leadership Certificate course with Lay Institute for Evangelism in 1979 through the Qld Baptist. He went on to complete his Diploma of Ministries in biblical studies at Garden City College of Ministries and then received his Advanced Diploma in Ministry from Dunamis College of Ministries.
The spiritual gifting upon Ps. Peter's life are Pastoral (Shepherd/Father), Divine Healing, Words of Knowledge, Evangelism and moving in God’s divine power to bring holistic healing to all. Ps. Peter & Sue have seen hundreds of people healed physically, emotionally and spiritually since God has given them the awesome privilege to Minister for Him...
“We have witnessed legs grow in front of us, many asthma sufferers healed, skin conditions cured, cancerous lumps dissolve, long term pain disappear instantly and demons flee”, Ps. Peter writes.
Ps. Peter adds “I remember one time particularly when we had the opportunity to pray for a member of our congregation who’s unborn baby was diagnosed with a form of down syndrome. A scan had shown that the child had a club thumb, over-sized brain and heart, just weeks before birth. We prayed for her that Sunday morning and God performed a beautiful Miracle. The mother went back to the Doctor on the Tuesday and all the scans showed that the baby was in perfect health and within a few weeks the baby boy (Nathaniel) was born - perfect and healthy.”
Each week Ps. Peter and his Ministry Team pray for the sick and see lives continually transformed by the healing power of God. “Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever” (He healed then and heals now!)
Ps. Peter has a Father’s heart and a deep passion that desires to see all come into their full potential in God. To be released into what they are called to do and all they can become. Ps. Peter leads by example and enjoys equipping leaders to lead.
"I believe God has set a wonderful vision before us as a church to reach those in need, by giving them a hand up, not just a hand out. We are believing the Lord for our own building which will be able to house and facilitate all our outreach ministries with room for our rapid expansion. I believe The Rock has been called as a market place church which will exist in the very heart of our industrial, retail, and suburban community. So I envisage this future building to be designed as a large community centre that can be used on Sundays for worship services but will also house our foodbank, street van ministry, industrial chaplaincy program and include facilities to assist the homeless and abused in the way of emergency accommodation as well as training rooms to hold seminars and teaching on life skills and recovery programs. Too many churches are closed throughout the week and only open Sunday, but I believe our doors and services need to be operational 7days a week so the community in need can access help."
Why not come to visit or stay and call The Rock your home!
